About Our
Sleep Studies

It’s normal to have trouble falling and staying asleep now and then, but chronic sleeplessness can be a serious health issue. If you are experiencing a sleep disorder, the sleep specialists at Adams County Regional Medical Center will help diagnose and treat your problem so you can get the rest you need.

ACRMC uses a variety of tests to identify the cause of nighttime sleeplessness or daytime drowsiness. All sleep studies must be ordered by a physician. Typically, your medical provider will order the test he or she feels is necessary.

Polysomnograms (PSG) - A test used to rule out sleep apnea, insomnia, night terrors, nocturnal desaturation, periodic leg movements (PLM) and other conditions of disruptive sleep.

Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) - A test used to diagnosis central disorders of hypersomnolence such as narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia, or true excessive daytime sleepiness.

Nasal CPAP/BIPAP Therapy (CPAP) - This test indicates if the patient has moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. During this study, the patient is placed on a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine.
