Women’s Health Day

Join us for our Women’s Health Day on October 22, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. This event will include women’s services and craft and small business vendors. Financial Assistance and free transportation will be available.

Mammogram – Medical providers use mammograms to look for early signs of breast cancer. Regular mammograms are the best tests providers have to find breast cancer early, sometimes up to three years before it can be felt. Please call the Adams County Health Department at 937-544-5547 to schedule your mammogram during this event. If you are unable to attend this event, the Adams County Regional Medical Center offers self referral mammograms, Monday through Friday, where no medical order is needed. To schedule a mammogram on another date, please call 937-386-3451.

Comprehensive Blood Screening – A simple, affordable way to take charge of your health. This screening includes Glucose, BUN, Creatinine, Albumin, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Carbon Dioxide, Calcium, T. Protein, T. Bilirubin, ALT, AST, Alkaline Phosphatase, Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL, HDL, TSH, CBC, HgbA1C for $35.00. Testosterone screening will also be available for $12.00. A 12 hour fast is recommended for the comprehensive blood screening (only water and scheduled medications.) Diabetics should consult physicians regarding fasting.

Bone Density Screening – A test to check how strong your bones are by measuring a small part of one or a few of them. The results can help your medical provider know how you can treat or prevent bone loss and fracture. This service is provided free of charge.

Inflatable Colon Display – Walk or roll through an Inflatable Colon Exhibit. The exhibit is an interactive educational display that includes graphical examples of healthy colorectal tissue, colorectal polyps, non-malignant colorectal disease, and colorectal cancer (CRC) at various stages and provides information about screening, the risk for developing CRC and preventative measures. The guided walking tour through an inflatable colon can significantly improve CRC knowledge, willingness to discuss CRC with others, and intention to undergo CRC screening. This service is provided free of charge.

Community Resources – This event will host a variety of community-based organizations and businesses that will offer education, resources, and referrals for women of all ages. In addition, participants will enjoy craft and small business vendors.
