The Adams County Regional Medical Center (ACRMC) is proud to announce that it has received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Critical Access Hospital Accreditation. This achievement demonstrates ACRMC's commitment to providing safe and quality patient care, and the gold seal serves as a symbol of quality for the organization.

ACRMC underwent a rigorous and unannounced onsite review by The Joint Commission in the fall of 2022. During the review, a team of experts evaluated ACRMC's compliance with the Critical Access Hospital Accreditation standards in various areas, including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and patient rights.

"Our patients count on us to continually improve the quality of care we provide," says Alan Bird, CEO of Adams County Regional Medical Center. "Earning accreditations like this is critical to maintaining our community's trust in the medical care they receive here, and I am incredibly proud of our team for their hard work and efforts in earning this honor."

The Joint Commission's standards are developed with the input of health care experts, providers, measurement experts, and patients, and are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 22,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States, and works with these organizations to improve patient safety and quality of care.

"We strive to be survey-ready at all times," says Rachel Cummings, Chief Nursing Officer of Adams County Regional Medical Center. "By approaching our work with this mindset, we feel we can best meet the challenges of healthcare head-on, in all areas of the hospital, every day. The results of the survey speak to the hard work our employees perform each and every day, not just during the survey."

At ACRMC, department managers and directors set aside time each month to prepare their teams for the rigors of the survey. The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Critical Access Hospital Accreditation is a testament to ACRMC's commitment to providing safe and quality patient care, and their ongoing efforts to excel in the delivery of healthcare.

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission continuously seeks to improve health care for the public and inspire healthcare organizations to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value.
