Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to fast prior to my blood work?

It depends on what the physician ordered. Usually the physician will explain how long he wants you to be fasting prior to your draw. During your fast, you may only drink water. Tests that typically require fasting are the lipid profile and glucose (blood sugar).

Can I get my results?

Yes but only if you sign a release. Laboratory personnel can give you a release form to sign before you leave the department. You may wait for your results or pick them up at your convenience. For your protection, we are not permitted to give results out over the phone. Link to Release of Information

Will the results be sent to my physician?

Physicians who are on staff at ACRMC receive a copy of your results in their hospital mailbox. Results for all other physicians are sent to their designated fax location.

Blood Donations

The Hoxworth Blood Center located in Cincinnati, Ohio provides all blood products for the Adams County Regional Medical Center. Local blood drives are held approximately every 8 weeks in our community. Blood drives are held at ACRMC two times per year, mid-year and end of year.
