To be eligible for Home Care services Medicare requires that you be “homebound” and have a “skilled” need to receive home care services. According to Medicare guidelines this does not mean that the individual has to be bedridden to be considered homebound. It means that leaving the home would require a considerable and taxing effort.

A patient’s homebound status is not violated by attending a family reunion, funeral, graduation, or other infrequent or unique events and would not necessitate a finding that the patient is not homebound if the absences are infrequent and/or are relatively short duration. Homebound is determined on an individual basis.

Home Care provides the following skilled services:
        • Infusion therapy (antibiotic, chemotherapy, TPN, steroids etc.)
        • Wound management
        • Diabetic Teaching
        • Central Line maintenance/care
        • Teaching and assistance with ostomies (Nasogastric, ileostomy, colostomy etc)
        • Synagis Injections
        • Pediatric Home Infusions
